I need to iterate through a bunch of excel workbooks and grab a value from each one and paste that value to a new workbook, so basically consolidating results from a bunch of excel workbooks to a single workbook . The way my script runs now it copies and pastes the value back to the original workbook. What do I need to change so I can copy a value from one workbook and paste it to the new workbook? You need to refer to a specific sheet in the workbook to write into. As per the comment below, xw.Range('A1',wkb=wb).value
is deprecated.
